This should keep you people busy...

I know, I know. I said I was going on hiatus until the end of the summer, and I am (pretty much) keeping my word. I just had to throw this link up. Basically, it culls the 25 most recent images posted to live journals and shows them to you, the user. Fun? Yes. Work safe? 99.5 percent of the time.

It's amazing what you can accomplish with a "can do" attitude and a pocket full of dimes.

So, I went garage saling today. For two reasons: 1. to try to find an old turntable and/or some slick records and 2. to finally discern what all the hype about garage sales is really about.

After spending all morning testing my hypothesis (of course, only when no one was looking), I came to two three conclusions:

1. 99.2% of what you find at garage sales is crap.
2. Going to garage sales by yourself is boring.
3. I like making lists.

That being said, I did find that a dime will buy you pretty much anything you want if you show up on the last day of the sale. Fifty cent book? Wave that dime in front of her face and it's all yours. Two dollar record? "10 cents or I'm walking away." Works every time. And by every time, I mean once. But it is the Blues Brother's Soundtrack, and in pretty good condition too. Though, between that and a Robert Lewis Stevenson book, I really didn't have too much luck. Oh well, there's always next weekend.

Ok... I just can't stay away.

Well, today I am back for a brief log, coming to you live from San Francisco, CA. I am halfway through a week long conference on Materials Processing, and I have worn a tie for four days in a row now. I think that may be a record. Hopefully, I will get a chance to see a bit more of the city sometime soon. I haven't gotten to explore much, but some guy did tell me he could guess the city where I bought my shoes. I didn't take him up o the offer. Oh, and I rode the trolley, uber cool.

Good Internet Radio

I was told LA had a new pirate radio station. As it turns out, I couldn't find them on the tuner, but they do have a webstation and it plays some kickin' music. Check it out here.
